Collectable coins

Collectable coins. Rare and authentic

Collectable coins

Collectable coins Commemorative coins, especially admired by collectors,

are only minted with one specific year date and tend to be issued for specific events.

With a themed collection, there is always the opportunity to document history

in precious metal and add more commemorative coins over time.

Of course you will want to consider the value of any coin you wish to add as your collection grows

and it’s important to note that rarity is more of a factor than the actual value of the metal itself.

The extent to which a coin minted for commemorative purposes

has potential to increase in value over time is partly dependent on the quantity produced.

Coins that are minted for commemorative purposes

They are decided by the government and issued according to a legal framework,

once the authorised quantity is struck, it is forbidden to produce more.

When the entire minted quantity is sold out demand

then increases from collectors and dealers

which in turn increase the value of a specific coin over time.

As a general rule, the smaller the number of coins that are available,

and the higher the demand, the more attractive the coin will be for a prospective buyer.

Collectable coins contain a year date of when they are minted and usually a number published.

Rare and authentic

Determining the authenticity of a coin is vital with a significant number of silver and gold counterfeit coins in circulation.

Request documentation at the time of purchase relating to the coin’s origin, its condition, specifications and mintage.

Only purchase from reputable sources and beware of rogue traders and unscrupulous operators.

Acquire knowledge through research via reference books and price guides.

The £1 coins to look out for – and what they can shift for

If you’ve one of these Collectable coins  knocking around, you could be quids in .

though it goes without saying that prices can change,

there are no guarantees, and ‘mint-condition’ coins are likely to fetch more than those that have been in the wars.

  • The Scotland: Thistle and Bluebell £1.

Issued in 2014, this coin from north of the border is considered “scarce”, with five million minted. It regularly fetches between £3.50 and £5

  • England: London £1.

This coin was issued in 2010 as part of the Royal Mint’s series of £1 coins to commemorate the four constituent countries of the UK.

  •  Some Collectible coins worth more than others, but this London design is considered “very scarce”, with just over 2.5 million minted.
  • Regularly listed , this coin currently fetches between £6.50 and £10 – a tidy profit on its face value.

  • Wales: Cardiff City £1.

This coin is also “very scarce”, with just over 1.5 million minted.

  • The coin was issued during 2011 and shows the Coat of Arms of Cardiff representing Wales. We found two of these listed as sold on eBay this month for £14.99 each.

  • Scotland: Edinburgh City £1.

Issued in 2011, this is considered THE most scarce £1 coin available.

  • Fewer than one million were minted – so if you’ve got one, it’s probably a waste to spend it.
  • These regularly fetch up to £20 a time, though some rarer uncirculated versions – often displayed in a commemorative box – have sold for up to £60.
  • The list above isn’t exhaustive.
  • The coin collector website Change Checker says four more designs which are more widely in circulation
  • Than those listed above are still considered “less common”.
  • These are (from left to right, below) the ‘Northern Ireland: Flax and Shamrock’, the ‘Daffodil and Leek’, the ‘Rose and Oak Branch’ and the ‘Belfast City’ £1 coins.
  • These coins fetch between £3 and £5 each.

How to cash in on your Collectable coins

  • Use as many keywords as possible. Fill the item’s auction title with search terms such as edition, year and condition.
  • Also include close-up photos of your £1 coin in the listing.
  • For higher value coins, post with an insured, signed-for service with online tracking, such as Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed.
  • This covers cash sent in the post for loss or damage up to £500, though this option will cost upwards of £6.45 so shouldn’t be considered if your coins are worth less.
  • If you think you have an especially valuable coin, consider selling via a specialist dealer. Find them through the British Numismatic Trade Association. As a rule of thumb, always try at least three and play them off against each other.
  • Remember, as with other collectables, rare-coin prices fluctuate significantly. So if you cash in now, you may lose out, or you could gain later –no one knows for sure.

Fiat 500 Jolly

Fiat 500 Jolly. Classic Car Rare 1963

Classic Car

1963 Fiat 500 Jolly.
Stunning Italian craftsmanship
Beautifully presented
Supplied with original Fiat 500 owners manual
Exquisite design,

1963 Fiat 500 Jolly.

When Fiat’s chairman Gianni Agnelli needed a “land dinghy” to carry aboard his 82-foot yacht, the Agneta, he asked his design team at Fiat to create a small, light vehicle that could easily be lowered off the boat for local transportation. They came up with the ‘Jolly.’

The first Jollys’ were built on the two-cylinder Fiat 500 platform and then sent to Ghia,

the famous Italian Coachbuilder to be modified.

This involved removing the roof and doors and adding wicker seats

and a fringed canvas top and strengthening the chassis frame.

A version based on the larger 600 soon followed.

It is believed that no more than 400 Jollys were built in total, between 1958 and 1969.

Fiat 500 Jolly. Classic Car Rare 1963

They were briefly sold in the United States and are very rare in Europe.

Our beautiful little Fiat Jolly recreation is a Fiat 500 that has been fully restored to Jolly specifications having used an original Ghia 500 Jolly as a reference. The entire body of the Fiat 500 saloon was completely stripped to bare metal, restored, re-worked and repainted by craftsmen in Italy. Finished to an extremely high standard and painted beautifully in Peppermint Green with bright Chrome details and wicker seating. Complemented by Chrome wheel trims with White-wall tyres, this iconic little classic always attracts admiring envious onlookers. The drivability of the car is equally as pleasurable, gear changes are smooth, allowing for easy City driving.

Hand crafted wicker seats, rattan floor mats, a quality fringed surrey top, and the gorgeous windshields are fitted to finish the Jolly look, all are in concours condition. This is the perfect vehicle for the Summer months.

Here is the chance to own one of the finest small cars ever built.

This stunning Fiat 500 Jolly is simply stunning.

Everyone has their own definition, their own set of criteria, their own ideas about what makes a car ‘classic’.

Some people have a very fluid rationale, using the word ‘classic’ to refer to a wider range of interesting cars that aren’t being built anymore.

Others are more comfortable with a specific meaning of the word, like the reader who wrote in yesterday saying that to qualify as classic the car must be “a post-WWII, pre-1980 model of technical or nostalgic merit”.

Neither approach is wrong.

But how old or new can a classic car be?

Who decides whether a car is noteworthy, or when it approaches ‘a certain age’?

Do we leave this down to consensus?

I’ve briefly explored some of the options.

Again, it depends who you ask. ‘Classic’ is a specific taxation class in several US states, while North American historic car clubs have their own set criteria and age restrictions.

In the UK, though, there are fewer hard-and-fast rules.

The closest thing we have to a cut-off date is currently the 1st of January 1977 – cars built before this particular day don’t incur vehicle excise duty. This is a rolling date (it’ll soon be 1978) but it offers Brits something approaching a government definition of ‘classic’.

What can be a ‘classic’ car?

Whether any of these qualify as classics is still the source of disagreement.

A Subaru fan might consider the P1 to be a seminal road car,

while a dyed-in-the-wool Porsche aficionado

would probably have to look closely at which particular 911 was being offered. before deciding whether it was a classic or not.

But it’s fair to say that these cars are currently closer to being ‘classics’

than Corsas of the same vintage.

Vintage Cars?

Take having “technical or nostalgic merit”

as a starting point for classic car candidacy.

It’s actually more difficult to think of a car that doesn’t fall into this category than to find cars that do

Nearly every car has a technological USP, and those that don’t still have fan clubs.

And by definition, more cars are becoming old enough to be noteworthy. Everyday vehicles from yesteryear.

become scarce, or are belatedly recognised for the technological achievements They represent.

Gradually, and fitfully, the ranks of the ‘classic’ fleet swell.

Remember that eventually, they’ll almost certainly become right.

If you’re deciding whether or not to invest in a classic car,

Fiat 500 Jolly then bear in mind that parts might not come cheap.

Let’s be honest, classic is just another word for old .

and old in the context of cars can mean it’s hard to fix and find parts for.

Before you buy, it’s worth checking the replacement parts rules of your insurance provider

to make sure you’ll be entitled to authentic replacement parts.

So, while you may have a hankering for something cool and vintage,

the demands on your wallet might not be so welcome.

See why so many people choose SaleHoo to start and grow their online businesses and sell online for free with bidallhours..

Before starting SaleHoo, I was an online seller on TradeMe,  New Zealand’s local auction site. I now sell online for free with bidallhours.

Like you, I had a long list of challenges that made running a profitable online business more difficult than it needed to be…

  1. I had a hard time finding wholesale and dropship suppliers with real wholesale prices…
  2. It was difficult to find suppliers who would work with a new business and offer low or no minimum orders…
  3. I couldn’t tell whether a supplier was legitimate, or if they would take my money and run…
  4. I struggled to decide which products to sell and when to sell them…
  5. The amount of information out there was overwhelming, but so much of it was out of date, low in quality, or just plain wrong…

…I wasted a lot of time trying to find the right suppliers, products, and info. Everything I needed to be successful was scattered between a bunch of websites, tools, and training resources.

Despite these challenges, I did manage to run a profitable online business (eventually), and other sellers took notice and began asking me how I did it.

My answers weren’t very satisfying because my success was due to a lot of trial and error. This made me realize there had to be a better way…

So I teamed up with Mark Ling, a successful Internet entrepreneur, and started SaleHoo to give online sellers everything they need to be successful in one affordable place.

At SaleHoo, you’ll find…

  • 8,000+ trusted wholesale and dropship suppliers that we’ve personally reviewed

Now, because of the lists provided by SaleHoo, after only 4 months in, my top line is $70,000 per year and growing. You have to start somewhere—and that’s a huge leap from $0 just 4 short months ago.”

…to Andrew Kowalchuk, a single dad of three who was able to quit his full-time job after only 3 months…

“I started an online business in no time. In as little as two to three months, I had easily matched my original salary. One month later, I quit my horrible 7-5 job, and ever since then, I have been spending nearly the whole day with my family.”

…to members who just want to make some extra money on the side to support their family after a financial setback, take an extra- special vacation, or supplement their regular income…

“Profits in 3 months were able to support my family when a family member went into the hospital and my husband lost his full-time job.”

Twenty pound notes were introduced by the Bank of England for the first time in 1725.

The earliest notes were handwritten, and were issued to individuals as needed.

These notes were written on one side only and bore the name of the payee, the date, and the signature of the issuing cashier.

With the exception of the Restriction Period between 1797 and 1821.

when the French Revolutionary Wars and the Napoleonic Wars caused a bullion shortage,

These notes could be exchanged in full, or in part, for an equivalent amount of gold.

When presented at the bank.

If redeemed in part, the banknote would be signed to indicate the amount that had been redeemed.

From 1853 printed notes replaced handwritten notes,

With the declaration “I promise to pay the bearer on demand the sum of twenty pounds” replacing the name of the payee.

This declaration remains on Bank of England banknotes to this day.

A printed signature of one of three cashiers appeared on the printed notes,

Though this was replaced by the signature of the Chief Cashier from 1870 onward.[1]

A United States  dollar  coin minted from 1921 to 1928, and again in 1934 and 1935.

It was the last United States dollar coin to be struck for circulation in silver. Composition .900 silver, & .100 copper.

Silver Peace Dollar 1922

Firstly this fine example of a Silver Peace dollar 1922. Which has been enamalled is encased on a silver necklace it has been in the family  for 3 generations. looking closley it appears to be high struck.

Designed by Anthony de Francisci, the coin was the result of a competition to find designs emblematic of peace.
34 years old, de Francisci was the youngest of the competitors.
The sculptor based the obverse design of Liberty on the features of his wife, Teresa de Francisci.
Due to the short length of the competition, he lacked the time to hire a model with the features he envisioned.
Its obverse represents the head and neck of the Goddess of Liberty in profile.
The reverse depicts a bald eagle at rest clutching an olive branch, with the legend “Peace”.
The reverse and obverse of the coin was modified several times during the production.
Silver Peace dollar 1922 was first struck on December 28, 1921; just over a million were coined bearing a 1921 date.
The high relief of the 1921 design was found impractical and was modified to low or shallow relief in 1922.
35,401 coins had been made and most of them melted in the mint.
Also, high relief 1922 proof dollars occasionally appear on the market and it is believed that about six to 10 of them exist.

What this coin looks like (obverse, reverse, mint mark location, special features, etc.):
1922 High Relief Peace Silver Dollar
Silver Peace dollar 1922,

One extremely rare and valuable variety is the 1922 High Relief Peace Dollar. Most 1922 Peace dollars are Normal Relief. So their features are not as sharp and they don’t stand out as much. In the previous year – All 1921 Peace Dollars were High Relief. The US Mint found that this original high relief design produced a higher quality and more beautiful coin but it caused more wear and tear on the dies that produce the coins – which had to be replaced often. So early in 1922: The US Mint decided it was more practical to produce dies that resulted in a coin design with lower relief and lower quality for general circulation.

Silver Peace dollar 1922,

The US Mint originally produced 35401 of these 1922 High Relief coins (mostly non-proof business strikes intended for general circulation) before going to a Normal relief design. Nearly all of these high relief coins were melted down a short time later by the US Mint. Only about 10 to 12 High Relief 1922 Proof (Matte Proof) Peace Dollars are estimated to exist. One stray non-proof business strike coin also exists!

Silver Peace dollar 1922

Depicted above is a 1922 High Relief Matte Proof Peace Dollar while the image below depicts a 1922 Normal Relief Matte Proof Peace Dollar. Both varieties are exceptionally valuable – but the High Relief version is the crown jewel (Sources of example images are courtesy of Heritage Auction Galleries):

1922 Low Relief Matte Proof Peace Dollar

Silver Peace dollar 1922, It is quite easy to identify the differences between the high relief and low relief coins.

Both the obverse (front) and reverse (back) of the coin have differences. Whilst on the obverse of the coin.

The numbers in the date and letters appear thicker on the high relief variety .Furthermore  even the spikes coming off the liberty crown are noticeably thicker.

Although on the normal relief variety the spikes are longer and thinner with one small extra spike between the two left-most spikes.

These features are depicted by the arrows in the example image below (Notice how much longer and thinner the spikes are near the letter “E” in the word “LIBERTY” on the Normal Relief variety vs the shorter spikes on the High Relief variety):

1922 Obverse - High Relief vs Low Relief Peace Dollar - Difference and Comparison

Silver Peace dollar 1922,

On the reverse of the coin: The high relief version also features thicker letters.

The letters are much clearer on the high relief variety whereas the letters on the reverse lower relief coin appear blurry . Especially in the word “PEACE” at the base of the coin.

The portrait of the eagle and the rays are also vastly more detailed than the lower relief variety. The rays are also longer on the high relief version and there are two extra rays near the rock where the eagle is perched depicted by the arrows . Two rays clearly appear within the middle of the letter “O” in the word “DOLLAR” on the high relief version.Whereas on the low relief variety there is only one ray “clearly” seen through the middle of the “O”. The differences are depicted below in the example comparison image of the reverse of the coins:

The best advertising for any product is to give your potential customers a taste of what you have to offer. And there is no better way to do this then in showing your expertise. Using the best marketplace platform for selling online for free  and make available for everyone to see. If you forget this point, you might find that you lose them,  before you  to turn them into customers!

To convince a customer to pay you for a product or for your time, show them a clear example. explain how this will make their life easier or more fulfilling is an absolute necessity.

Like it or not, we all encounter dozens of advertising messages each day. Because of this, most people train themselves to filter and ignore empty sales pitches that overpromise and underdeliver.

The good news is that you make a well founded case for why customers should purchase what you are offering. I recommend avoiding trying to come up with the perfect sales pitch, and instead making yourself as relatable as possible. People are more likely to buy from a trusted source, so authenticity is absolutely vital.

Typically the company refer customers who will give you a fee, in exchange for referring the customer to them. Best of all, you do not have to worry about taking on any of the risk in terms of holding the products.

Commissions vary quite a bit depending if you can sell for free.  I always recommend reviewing options, so that you can be sure you are going with the most competitive option available. Most e-commerce sites will pay more for affiliates who send them the most customers, so I recommend not getting discouraged if you are not seeing really high conversions in the beginning.
